History Nha Trang Vietnam

Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa) is located in the South Central Sea and is attractive to not only domestic tourists but also quite a lot of foreign tourists. With a beautiful coastline and fine sand, many beautiful large and small islands, a system of high-class hotels and motels and a large airport are the main reasons for Nha Trang city to hold a large number of tourists. . So have you ever wondered why the coastal city is officially called Nha Trang?

During the development of history, generations of Khanh Hoa residents have united, joined forces, and worked together in production, fighting against foreign invaders to build a rich and beautiful homeland. They have created unique architectural works, valuable historical - cultural relics such as communal houses, temples, pagodas, towers, temples, ancient citadels...
Nha Trang is the coastal city of Khanh Hoa province. Before becoming a part of Vietnam, Nha Trang belonged to Chiem Thanh. The relics of the Chiem people still exist in many places in Nha Trang such as Cham towers and Ponagar towers.
In the early nineteenth century, Nha Trang city today is still a pristine beach with a fishing village with several thatched roofs in Con hamlet along the mouth of the Cai River. There is only one house built with 2 floors in white, which is the working house of Dr. Alexandre Yersin (Mr. Nam floor). People who come here by sea will see the white house first, Nha Trang is the " white house" called deviate.
That is the interpretation of the origin of the name Nha Trang by the admirers of A. Yersin is a special citizen of the city. According to many researchers, the name Nha Trang originates from the Cham language. It was Ea Tran or Yjatran. Ea or Yuja is the river. Tran is a mop (Lau River). Called that because, in the past, the mop grew on both sides of the Cai River and poured into the estuary of Cu Huan (now Nha Trang). Gradually it was called deviating into Nha Trang. The name of the river later became the name of the land, then used for the whole bay to embrace and beautify the land.

Bờ biển Nha Trang năm 1965Nha Trang is used in books written before the French colonial period. In the episode " Phuong Dinh Du Chien" by Nguyen Sieu Tu Duc Dynasty, translated by Ngo Manh Nghinh, the section on Khanh Hoa province clearly states that: " In the year of the Ox, the army regained Binh Khang and joined the army, and invaded Quy Nhon. At the time the monks built the land in the capital of Nha Trang, it was called the Dien Khanh citadel, the mountains and rivers were really dangerous, and the custom was to call Nha Trang into "
In the unified Dai Nam of Cao Xuan Duc compiled in the Duy Tan period, Nha Trang is also mentioned. But it is not the name of the city but the name of a source of the Cu Giang river: the source of Nha Trang, the valley of Nha Trang (today's Nha Trang bay). Before 1924, the present-day Nha Trang was in Vinh Xuong district, Khanh Hoa province. In 1924, King Khai Dinh instigated the establishment of Nha Trang town. At its establishment, Nha Trang town had four villages: Xuong Huan, Phuong Cau, Van Thanh, and Phuong Sai.
On March 15, 1944, King Bao Dai solicited more land from Phuoc Hai village of Vinh Xuong district, merged into Nha Trang town, changed the village into wards, and raised the town to town. Nha Trang town at that time had 5 wards: the first ward (Xuong Huan), the second ward (Phuong Cau), the third ward (Van Thanh), the fourth ward (Phuong Sai), and the fifth ward (Phuoc Hai).
After March 9, 1945, the Japanese fascists reversed the French coup to move the Khanh Hoa provincial administration to Nha Trang, separating the present-day Dien Khanh from Vinh Xuong district. Vinh Xuong district remains the land of wards Vinh Nguyen, Vinh Truong, Vinh Hai, and the suburban communes of Nha Trang today. The whole district is divided into 2 cantons: Son Ha and Xuong Ha. On August 28, 1956, the Ngo Dinh Diem government enticed No. 50 to abolish the statute of the town, separating Nha Trang into two communes, Nha Trang Dong and Nha Trang Tay, in the Vinh Xuong district.
On July 20, 1970, two communes of Nha Trang Dong and Nha Trang Tay were separated from Vinh Xuong and added communes of Vinh Phuoc, Vinh Hai, Vinh Xuan hamlets, Vinh Thai commune, Vinh Diem Ha commune, Vinh Hiep commune, Ngoc Hoi hamlet. Ngoc Thao, Lu Cam, Vinh Ngoc commune, Vinh Xuong district established Nha Trang town. In 1972, Nha Trang town was divided into two districts. District I has 5 wards: Vinh Thai, Vinh Phuoc, Ngoc Hiep, Van Thanh, and Duy Tan (Former Xuong Huan). District II includes 6 wards: Phuong Sai, Tan Phuoc, Tan Lap, Phuoc Hai, Vinh Truong, and Vinh Nguyen.
On the part of the revolutionary government, in October 1950, at the request of the revolutionary movement, Vinh Xuong district and Nha Trang town were merged into Vinh Trang inter-district town. On 2-4-1975, Khanh Hoa province was liberated. On April 6, 1975, Khanh Hoa Provincial Military Commission split Vinh Trang into 3 administrative units. Nha Trang town was previously divided into 2 districts (District I and District II) and the old Vinh Xuong district was changed to the Vinh Xuong district. In September 1975, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province decided to merge District I and District II, taking Vinh Nguyen, Vinh Truong, Vinh Hai, and Vinh Phuoc wards of Vinh Xuong district to establish Nha Trang town. On March 30, 1977, according to Decision No. 391-QD / CP of the Government Council, taking 7 communes of old Vinh Xuong district: Vinh Thai, Vinh Ngoc, Vinh Hiep, Vinh Luong, Vinh Trung, Vinh Thanh, Vinh. Phuong cut out of Khanh Xuong district and joined Nha Trang town. At the same time, raising Nha Trang town to a city under Phu Khanh province.
On July 1, 1989, Phu Khanh province was split into two provinces, Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa, City. Nha Trang belongs to Khanh Hoa province. TP. Nha Trang now has an area

The earliest established unit was 4 villages Xuong Huan, Phuong Cau, Van Thanh, and Phuong Sai in Nha Trang town in 1924. The latest establishment was Vinh Hoa ward on April 1, 2002. Shielded by 19 large and small islands, Nha Trang Bay is about 500km2 wide, quite windy, no big waves.
The mouth of the Cai River flows out between two crescent-shaped beaches with cool sand stretching for 6, 7 kilometers. Under the tropical sun, the green of the undulating mountains on the shore, of the islands mingle with the blue sea, as if adding to the charm of the yellow sand strips, rich with white waves. In Nha Trang Bay, there are nearly ten islands of swiftlets. Every year, the exploitation of swiftlets brings millions of dollars to Khanh Hoa province.
Under the surface of Nha Trang Bay, there is another wonderful world, that is the world of 350 species of coral, 190 species of fish, mollusks, crustaceans, and sea grass ... December 2000, the project Hon Mun marine reserve in Nha Trang Bay. The first marine protected area in our country has been approved by the Prime Minister. Before 1975, Nha Trang was a town completely dependent on American aid with about 35% of the population engaged in services and commerce. The country was unified, at the end of March 1977, the Government decided to establish Nha Trang city. At that time, Nha Trang was the capital of Phu Khanh province with a population of about 20,000 people.
" Nha Trang's terrain is very beautiful. There is rarely a land that faces the sea. There are 5 mountains around, solidly shielded like here" said doctor Kieu Xuan Cu. He was originally from Khanh Hoa, participated in the revolution since 1945. Another person in Nha Trang for a long time had a habit of monitoring the weather affirmed: " Here the temperature fluctuates in a day only from 6-8 degrees C" He explained in his own way: " I' ve been monitoring for years. If the night is 20 degrees cold, the next day it will be only 26-28 degrees hot. I have 2 thermometers to keep indoors and out in the garden." The stability of the weather plus the airiness of a sunny and sunny coastal city all year round shows that nature also "supports" this land with outstanding advantages to develop into a tourist paradise.
